The Cedar Falls section of Cedar River is 0.05 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Iowa tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are
suitable for beginners. The natural beauty of Iowa and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This is an extremely short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. If you're coming from Waterloo-Cedar Falls it's not a long drive
at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are no other sections to paddle along Cedar River than the Cedar Falls section. The campgrounds here at Cedar River are pretty good.
