The nature scenery of Anderson / Franklin County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Benson Creek in Kentucky is 5.1 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. A good workout
and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No shortage of good hotels,
but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The starting point is not too far from Frankfort, as you can see on the road map further down.
