The average Kentucky whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The beautiful scenery of Fayette/Clark County and the water flowing gracefully down Boone Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you're a camper you can camp at one of
the great campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a short drive from Lexington-Fayette, as you can see on the road map further down. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This section
is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Kentucky 418 Bridge to Kentucky River section is the only paddling section along Boone Creek. This stretch of Boone Creek is 6.3 miles long and is a class II(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.
