The wonderful Mercer County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Cedar Branch have people coming here. This stretch of Cedar Branch in Kentucky is 1.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river     for a while will make you glad you came. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Cedar Branch doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Kentucky 342 to Kentucky River stretch is the only one. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. Briefly about the general area: Cedar Branch is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; during the month of May you get the most rain around here; October meanwhile is the driest month. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Cedar Branch reach the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 60's.
