We always go the entire 13 miles back to the outfitter, the second half is primarily flat water but a nice float. The nature scenery of Franklin County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This stretch of Elkhorn Creek in Kentucky is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(III) section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning   trip.
