The city of Louisville has installed Canoe ramps at Miles Park near US 60 and at Fischerville near KY 155 (Taylorsville Rd). You can paddle from Miles Park to Seatonville Rd (13.4 miles). The put-in location is a short drive from Louisville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further     down the page. The scenic beauty of Kentucky and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is the only paddling stretch along Floyds Fork. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Kentucky is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Briefly about the general area: Floyds Fork sees   pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the rain is July, and October is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Floyds Fork generally tend to be in the 80's, and the overnight is a bit cooler of course, ordinarily in the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are typically in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Floyds Fork temperatures descend to the 20's.
