Kentucky whitewater - Floyds Fork, Bullitt County

Bullitt county, 1526 Bridge to Highway 61/Salt River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I     9.6 miles

The writer is incorrect about this section being the only one you can Paddle. The city of Louisville has installed Canoe ramps at Miles Park near US 60 and at Fischerville near KY 155 (Taylorsville Rd). You can paddle from Miles Park to Seatonville Rd (13.4 miles). Says Mike B

The scenic beauty of Kentucky and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The put-in location is a short drive from Louisville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section of Floyds Fork is 9.6 miles
long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I section. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Floyds Fork doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the 1526 Bridge to Highway 61/Salt
River section is the only one. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Kentucky is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip.
