Kentucky whitewater - Gasper River, Logan / Warren County Logan / Warren county, Bucksville Road to Barren River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     35 miles   The Bucksville Road to Barren River stretch of Gasper River is 35 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Bowling Green, as you can see on the road map further down. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so it looks     like you will be camping out. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less demanding. Gasper River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Bucksville Road to Barren River stretch is the only one. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The natural beauty of Logan / Warren County and the water flowing gracefully down Gasper River beats anything. Briefly about the general area: At Gasper River through the warm months highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Gasper River. A spree to Richelieu Hollow is always fun.
