CLASS II-III+ 2.75 miles
I currently live on the creek and when it rains hard it is easily a class III. I've run it several times and it is definitely a difficult, but fun, run Says Sean Robinson
I just so happenned to google Gilberts Creek. I was raised on Gilberts creek and I have walked every inch of the creek many times. To say it is whitewater is pretty funny, except where the river runs into the Kentucky River you can't float a boat on Gilberts creek. Most of the creek is barely ankle deep. You may want to check your info. FYI. WH. Says Walter Hoffeld
The
nature scenery of Kentucky and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average Kentucky whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so better not forget
that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The put-in is not too far from Frankfort, as you can see on the road map further down.
