This section of Grassy Creek is 0.94 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a very short section so better bring some good walking shoes. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other stretches to paddle along Grassy Creek than the Gateway Motel to Russell Fork stretch.     When you're paddling down a Cumberland Plateau Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Kentucky you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy.
