The Below Laurel River Lake stretch of Laurel River in Laurel County is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III(IV) section by American Whitewater. There's camping available near Laurel River. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is the only paddling section along Laurel River. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Kentucky is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here
