If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Kentucky you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The Sulphur to Kentucky 421 stretch of Little Kentucky River is 8.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one     day trip. Little Kentucky River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Sulphur to Kentucky 421 section is the only one. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. The wonderful Kentucky scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: Little Kentucky River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime brings   highs in the 80's to Little Kentucky River; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Little Kentucky River.
