This stretch of Little Sandy River in Kentucky is 27 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. Not too many hotels     nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. There are no other sections to paddle along Little Sandy River than the Sandy Hook to Grayson Lake section. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff.
