The scenic beauty of Kentucky and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is one of a small number of paddling     stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Kentucky you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Briefly about the general area: The high level of rain makes Otter Creek a rather wet spot; July is the month that gets the most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at Otter Creek regularly tend to be in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 60's.
