  The beautiful scenery of Kentucky and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The starting location is a short drive from Richmond, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down
    the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this
area has a large number of paddling spots. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

Briefly about the general area:
All through the warm days of summer highs here at Otter Creek reach the 80's, and the overnight is a bit cooler of course, frequently in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Otter Creek are in the 20's.
Otter Creek is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is October.
