  The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The scenic beauty of Kentucky and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. There's camping available near Otter Creek. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
    The starting location is a reasonable drive from Elizabethtown, as you can see on the road map further down. The US 60 to Firetower Road stretch of Otter Creek in Kentucky is 6.3 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. There are no other stretches
to paddle along Otter Creek than the US 60 to Firetower Road stretch. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip.

Briefly about the general area:
Lick Bottom is an exciting thing to catch a glimpse of since you're here at Otter Creek; Boone Hollow is also a splendid spot to look at. Otter Creek commonly gets a good deal of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is March, and September is when it's
 
the driest.
The Blue Hole is an exciting place to explore while at Otter Creek. High temperatures at Otter Creek all through the summertime are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Otter Creek.
