This section of Otter Creek in Kentucky is 6.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The scenic beauty of Meade County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Kentucky is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The US 60 to Firetower Road section is the only paddling section along Otter Creek. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the
river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number
of good spots. The campgrounds here at Otter Creek are pretty good. The put-in location is a short drive from Elizabethtown, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.
