There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Gorge takeout to Elkhorn City stretch is one of them. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great!. Pool Point is in the neighborhood and always tremendous to take a look at; nearby you discover Skegg Gap which is a great site to have a look at. At Russell Fork during the summertime highs are in   the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Russell Fork. All the water falling down from the sky makes Russell Fork a wet place; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October.
