This section of Salt River is 11.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I section. Salt River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Stringer Lane river bottoms to Shepherdsville stretch is the only one. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. The average Kentucky whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're     visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere.
