This stretch of Shawnee Run is 4 miles long and is a class I-III(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. Getting some good exercise and     spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. This is the only paddling stretch along Shawnee Run. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The campgrounds here at Shawnee Run are pretty good. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Kentucky you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy.
