The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Kentucky are often more forgiving than in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming     back for more. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Kentucky and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The campgrounds here at Silver Creek are pretty good. This section of Silver Creek in Madison County is 3.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Silver Creek is a relatively wet place mostly with lots of precipitation;   the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is when it's the driest. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Silver Creek with night lows in the 60's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Silver Creek.
