The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. This stretch of Tates Creek in Kentucky is 5 miles long and is a class II+(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Tates Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Million Kentucky to 169 Bridge stretch is the only one. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
