The wonderful Kentucky scenery and the water flowing gracefully down White Oak Creek have people coming here. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. This stretch of White Oak Creek is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. There are no other sections to paddle     along White Oak Creek than the Kentucky 1845 to Kentucky River section. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The starting point is not too far from Danville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: White Oak Creek gets much water; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is October. Summertime highs at White Oak Creek usually tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at White Oak Creek descend into the 20's.
