If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Danville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming     back for more. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Kentucky 1845 to Kentucky River section is the only paddling section along White Oak Creek. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Briefly about the general area: All through the summertime highs here at White Oak Creek get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for White Oak Creek. All the water   falling down from the sky makes White Oak Creek a wet location; through the month of May you get the most rain around here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
