The Allagash Lake to Chamberlain Lake stretch of Allagash Stream in Piscataquis County is 5.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The natural beauty of Maine and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.
    You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip.

Briefly about the general area:
At Allagash Stream during the summertime highs are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Allagash Stream are in the-10's. It's always great to go to Little Allagash Falls.
Allagash Stream gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
