The average Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Allagash Lake to Chamberlain Lake section of Allagash Stream in Piscataquis County is 5.5 miles long and it is classified as a class
    I-II section by American Whitewater. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Allagash
Lake to Chamberlain Lake stretch is one of them. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.

Allagash Stream gets a normal amount of yearly rain; during the month of July you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Allagash Stream through the days of summer are in the 70's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Allagash Stream night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's.
