The scenic beauty of Maine and the cool fresh water have people coming here. This section of Big Black River in Aroostock County is 22.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack
| your sleeping bag too. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling stretch along Big Black River. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
