If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The nature scenery of Piscataquis County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Big Wilson Stream in Maine is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The Bodfish Crossing to Willimantic stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some
time outdoors will have you coming back for more. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. You might have
to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
