Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the     sections here are pretty easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The wonderful Maine scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Big Wilson Stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
