  This stretch of Carrabasset is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-IV section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The wonderful Franklin County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Carrabasset are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations
    in advance you're all set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Carrabasset to Kingfield section
is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here.
