The scenic beauty of Maine and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The Lake Cathance to Dennysville stretch is the only paddling     stretch along Cathance Stream. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. The campgrounds here at Cathance Stream are pretty good. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers.
