The put-in is not too far from Lewiston-Auburn, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wonderful Cumberland County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here     in Maine are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Chandler Brook. There are no other stretches to paddle along Chandler Brook than the Runaround Pond to Royal River stretch. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: Chandler Brook gets a good deal of water; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while September is regularly the driest month. Summertime highs at Chandler Brook frequently tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's.
