The Cobbosseecontee Lake to Pleasant Pond section of Cobbosseecontee Stream in Maine is 11 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The average Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The put-in is not too far from Augusta-Waterville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful
scenery of Maine and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with
plenty of rivers for that. The Cobbosseecontee Lake to Pleasant Pond stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people.
