Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots
of good rivers for that around here. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Damariscotta River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Reversing Falls section is the only one. The starting point is not too far from Augusta-Waterville, as you can see on the road map further down.

You are near Wiley Point while you're here at Damariscotta River; if you desire a little side journey, try Glidden Ledge. Damariscotta River generally gets a great deal of rain; through November this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
High temperatures at Damariscotta River during the days of summer are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Damariscotta River.
