The Dallas School to Langston Mill section of Dead River - South Branch is 5.8 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The Dallas School to Langston Mill section is     one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
