  The Depot Lake to Big Black River stretch of Depot Stream in Maine is 19 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. There's camping available near Depot Stream. The natural beauty of Maine and the water flowing gracefully down Depot Stream have people coming here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than
    in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive
a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
