  The Depot Lake to Big Black River section of Depot Stream is 19 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Depot Stream
    than the Depot Lake to Big Black River section. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance
you're all set. The natural beauty of Maine and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
