  This stretch of Depot Stream is 19 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Aroostook County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill
    up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. Depot Stream doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Depot Lake to Big Black River stretch is the only one. The average
whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere.
