Black Brook to Ducktrap Harbor section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-V 3.5 miles
The beautiful scenery of Maine and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section of Ducktrap River in Maine is 3.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. The Black Brook to Ducktrap Harbor stretch is the only paddling stretch along Ducktrap
River. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. If you're coming from Rockland it's not a long drive at all to the starting
location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
