  The natural beauty of Aroostook County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Maine are easier than the national norm, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The Falls Pond to St. Francis River stretch of Falls Brook is 9.5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. Getting your paddling
    muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Falls Brook doesn't have a lot
of paddling sections, the Falls Pond to St. Francis River section is the only one. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
Falls Brook is a good place of normal rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
Summertime at Falls Brook arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Falls Brook are in the-10's.
