  This stretch of Fish River in Maine is 5.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The scenic beauty of Aroostook County and the water flowing gracefully down Fish River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maine are often more forgiving than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches
    in this river system, there are a few others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general
area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip.

A common amount of precipitation falls here at Fish River; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Island Pond Trail.

the Fox Brook Trail, and Skew Falls is a picturesque location to go to while you're at Fish River. Throughout the long summer days at Fish River temperatures are typically in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Fish River.
