Route 141 to Belfast section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 1 miles
If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Goose River in Maine is 1 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Rockland, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If
you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Getting
your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The wonderful Maine scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle.
