The Route 141 to Belfast stretch of Goose River is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The beautiful scenery of Waldo County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The put-in is not too far from Rockland, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have
you coming back for more. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maine are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less demanding. This is an extremely short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Lodging is available
near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.
Briefly about the general area: A trip to Patterson Point in the neighborhood of Goose River is always a great idea, and Steels Ledge is another great place to stop at nearby. days of summer are in the 70's, and the night is somewhat chillier of course, usually in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Goose River.
