  This section of Great Works River in York County is 1 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Maine and the water flowing gracefully down Great Works River have people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. The Brattle Street to Leighs Mill Pond stretch is the only paddling stretch along Great Works River. This is a very short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There
    are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maine are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a
bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.

A lot of rain falls at Great Works River; all through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest.
At Great Works River through the summer months highs are in the 80's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Great Works River.
