Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The campgrounds here at Great Works River are pretty good. The Brattle Street to Leighs Mill Pond section is the only paddling section along Great Works River. This is a very short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. Great exercise     and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The nature scenery of Maine and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
