The average Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The Garland to French Stream stretch of Kenduskeag Stream in Maine is 7.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Penobscot County and the sparkling of the sunlight on
the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping
in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Kenduskeag Stream a wet site; November is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. Through the warm days of summer here at Kenduskeag Stream,
high temperatures commonly get into the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's while Kenduskeag Stream overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.
