The wonderful Maine scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. If you're coming from Bangor it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too.
Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. And of course,
there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. This stretch of Kenduskeag Stream is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II(III) section.

50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Kenduskeag Stream. Kenduskeag Stream gets a normal amount of rainfall; November is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
