The Kennebago Lake to Bridge stretch of Kennebago River in Maine is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater paddling here in the White Mountains is a great experience.
There are no other stretches to paddle along Kennebago River than the Kennebago Lake to Bridge stretch. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Getting a good workout and just being
out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The beautiful scenery of Franklin Oxford County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip.
Briefly about the general area: A good deal of rainfall falls at Kennebago River; most of the rain falls through August, and the driest month of the year is February. Don't leave Kennebago River without first going for a hike along the Milrose Trail.
