If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This section of Kingsbury Stream in Piscataquis County is 11 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
The campgrounds here at Kingsbury Stream are pretty good. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The Kingsbury Pond to Coles Corner Road section is the only paddling section along Kingsbury Stream. If you have the time you
can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. The natural beauty of Piscataquis County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far.

Summertime at Kingsbury Stream arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Kingsbury Stream.
