The scenic beauty of York County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Maine tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are     great attractions for lots of people. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Through the warmest time of the year at Little River highs are ordinarily in the 80's, and the overnight is quite colder of course, usually in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Little River temperatures drop to the 10's.
