  The natural beauty of Maine and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section of Macwahoc Stream in Aroostook County is 26 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Great exercise and just being out on the river
    for a while have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The Macwahoc Lake to Macwahoc section is the only paddling section along Macwahoc Stream.
There's camping available near Macwahoc Stream. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
