The Aziscohos Dam to Wilsons Mills section of Magalloway River in Maine is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Aziscohos Dam to Wilsons Mills section is one of them. If you've been whitewater     rafting and kayaking outside Maine you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The beautiful White Mountains scenery is an added bonus. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area: Magalloway River gets much water; most of the rain falls throughout August, and the driest month is February. At Magalloway River during the warm months highs are in the   70's while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Magalloway River.
