  The nature scenery of Maine and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Maine tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The Third East Branch to First East Branch stretch of Magalloway River is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. On this section you do get some distance,
    you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since
you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
Magalloway River regularly gets much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most while February is frequently the driest month.
For the period of the days of summer at Magalloway River highs are ordinarily in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Magalloway River are in the-10's.
