This stretch of Marsh Stream in Maine is 9.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The wonderful     Waldo County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. If you're coming from Rockland it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down.
