Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The starting location is a short drive from Rockland, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch of Marsh Stream in Waldo County is 6.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling     trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers.
