The nature scenery of Maine and the water flowing gracefully down Millinocket Stream attract people from near and far. The campgrounds here at Millinocket Stream are pretty good. The Millinocket Lake to Libby Camp stretch of Millinocket Stream in Maine is 9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great
attractions for lots of people. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. There are no other sections to paddle along Millinocket Stream than the Millinocket Lake to Libby Camp section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier
than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.
Briefly about the general area: From a rain point of view Millinocket Stream is a reasonably common location; July is the wettest month with most rain while February is usually the driest month. The warmest time of the year at Millinocket Stream comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the
50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Millinocket Stream. On a good day at Millinocket Stream you can take a hike along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road, and don't leave Millinocket Stream without first checking out Devils Elbow. If the weather is tremendous here at Millinocket Stream, you can go for a hike along the Millinocket Lake Tote Road.
