The Millinocket Lake to Shad Pond section of Millinocket Stream is 10 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations     in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. There are no other stretches to paddle along Millinocket Stream than the Millinocket Lake to Shad Pond stretch.
