  The natural beauty of Maine and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Maine you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. The Chase Lake to Libby Camp section of Munsungan Stream is 16 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general
    area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Munsungan Stream doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Chase Lake to Libby Camp stretch is the only one. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll
have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
Munsungan Stream is a good place of normal rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture.
There are wonderful spots to discover along the Mooseleuk Tote Road, and you can go for a hike on the
 
Munsungan Lake Tote Road. Summertime highs at Munsungan Stream commonly tend to be in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's while Munsungan Stream nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-10's.
