The wonderful Maine scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Musquacook Stream is 18 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up
quick. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of
people coming here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners.
Briefly about the general area: From a rain point of view Musquacook Stream is a reasonably normal site; most of the rain falls during July, and the driest of the months is February. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Musquacook Stream highs are regularly in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. All through the wintertime
highs are regularly in the 20's; overnight lows in the-10's for Musquacook Stream. A short spree to Lower Horse Race Rapids is always worthwhile, and Horse Race Rapids is an inspiring place to stop at while here.
