Says Jill Wollygag If you're coming from Lewiston-Auburn it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The natural beauty of Maine and the cool fresh water beats anything. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day     but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 70's to Nezinscot River. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Nezinscot River.
