I got about 10 leeches on me though. All well! Says Jill Wollygag The put-in is not too far from Lewiston-Auburn, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Androscoggin County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. There are campgrounds     quite near the river where you can camp. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Briefly about the general area: During the summer here at Nezinscot River, high temperatures typically reach the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Nezinscot River throughout   the winter regularly descend into the 0's. Nezinscot River gets a lot of water; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
